Payments

Full payment is required strictly in advance of the first lesson appointment of any school term, lesson package or trial. An itemised account of all charges, costs and disbursements will be provided on the invoice. Payment options include cash, credit or debit card, cheque, direct deposit and recurring payment options. All lesson fees are non-refundable for change of mind or student initiated cancellations; please contact us for further information.

Please note, alternative payment arrangements can be made for particular enrolments; please contact us for more information.

If we incur any costs of collection, such as legal fees and collection agency fees etc., you agree to indemnify us for all such costs.

Terms of trade must be agreed to prior to commencement of enrolling for tuition at Tempo Allegro School of Music.

Expectations

Students need a specific time set aside for practice, and music books must be looked after at home and brought to each lesson. Throughout the term students may be required to purchase copies of the music they are learning, please note teachers are not always able to provide photocopies of music due to copyright law. A selection of resources is available for purchase at the school and teachers can provide information on where these can be purchased from.

NB. Parental support is essential for the success of young students. Please assist your children at home with practice, and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.

Attendance

Whilst students can begin lessons at anytime, students that have booked as a term paying student are expected to be in attendance for the entire duration of the school term from initial booking. If a full school term (prorated if beginning after week 1) has been booked, no credits or make-ups will be given if students are to be absent during the term for more than a week due to any reason. If absent for one week/lesson during a school term students will use their one make-up credit by default; see cancellation policy below.

If a lengthy absence is anticipated for the school term, beyond one week, our casual packages may be more suitable.

Term enrolments are deemed to carry over to subsequent terms until written notice is provided. If you wish to cancel enrolment please advise the school with at least 2 weeks notice to prevent charges and so your lesson time can be made available for another student.

Cancellations

All students receive one make-up lesson credit per term which can be used if the cancellation meets the criteria outlined below. Make-up lessons are subject to teacher availability and do not carry over to subsequent terms.

Cancellations require a minimum of 24 hours notice to qualify for a make-up lesson. In the event of sudden illness, cancellation notice must be received no later than 8:00am of the morning of the lesson to qualify for a make-up lesson.

Cancellations made in an emergency or due to special circumstances will be handled on a case by case basis.

Please note, only one make-up lesson credit is available each term; subsequent cancellations within the term will result in lessons charged regardless of notice.

Cancellations due to teacher absence will result in additional make-up credits that do not expire.

The School reserves the right to discontinue lessons for any reason, and this may include unpaid fees, frequent absences, behavioural issues, and destruction or damage to studio property.

Make-up Lesson Policy

We understand that life can sometimes throw unexpected situations our way. Our makeup policy is designed to ensure fairness while allowing for occasional changes in your schedule. Please take a moment to review our make-up lesson policy to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.

  • Make-up Session Availability: Each student is entitled to one make-up session per term, subject to availability. Make-up sessions provide an opportunity to reschedule a missed lesson due to valid reasons.

  • Valid Reasons: Valid reasons for make-up sessions include illness, family emergencies, and school-related events. We appreciate your understanding and respect for this policy.

  • Requesting a Make-up Session: To request a make-up session, please notify us at least 24 hours before the original lesson or by 8.00am the day of the lesson if due to sudden illness. This allows us to make the necessary arrangements and accommodate your request effectively.

  • Make-up Session Scheduling: Make-up sessions will be scheduled based on teacher availability and available time slots. We will do our best to accommodate your preferred make-up session time.

  • Term Limit: Each student is eligible for one make-up session per term. This helps us ensure that make-up opportunities are available to all students.

  • Make-up Session Expiration: Make-up sessions must be scheduled and completed within the same term in which the original lesson was missed. They cannot be carried forward to the next term.

  • Notifying Us: To request a make-up session, please contact us via email or phone. Please provide your name, the student's name, the original lesson date and time, and the reason for the absence.

  • No-Show Policy: Failure to attend a scheduled make-up session without proper notice will result in the forfeiture of that make-up opportunity.

We value your commitment to your music education and your understanding of our make-up lesson policy. Our aim is to create a positive and productive learning environment for all students. If you have any questions or need to request a make-up session, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
